Bespoke Handcrafted Furniture

Visit The Showroom

We are true cabinetmakers. We have no set style, ranges or standard pieces: every commission is individually designed, built by hand and installed by our own people, allowing you to express your own individuality in style, materials and layout.

From the very beginning back in 1983 we’ve shied away from the mass produced, low quality materials and prefabricated units often found in modern building projects. Instead from the very outset we’ve strived to deliver the finest, hand crafted furniture that can be made.

As a result, every cabinet, worktop and item of furniture created by Hiddleston is designed entirely around your needs before being carefully crafted by hand at our Dumfries workshop by our team of skilled craftsmen.

Traditional techniques

All of our projects enjoy the quality which traditional carpentry brings to a room or piece of furniture:

All front frames and doors with mortise and tenon joints

Traditional recessed hinges

Solid timber carcases

Extensive use of hand tools

Hand finishes, including painting by hand

Artisan joiners & craftsmen

We take pride in training our own apprentices.  In fact, all six of our fully certificated craftsmen joined the company as apprentices and now have almost 200 collective years of experience of working to the highest standards of craftsmanship between them.

As a result, we are able to create beautiful, entirely bespoke pieces from all types of natural materials including oak, walnut, marble and granite to the high standards that our clients expect.
